Bodoni

The second typeface I will use is Bodoni because it is pretty strong compared to other typefaces. It is definately more modern than older typefaces but I don't think I will mainly use Bodoni on this project.  Bodoni's not that bad...I's just prefer to use Caslon.

Of course you have to throw in some well known examples like a Nirvana cover.

Finals! Favorite shark concepts for first group

Books in (Adobe) Caslon?

The typeface I chose for project 1 in typography is Caslon for Pride and Prejudice. Does Adobe Caslon count even thought it was "created" in 1990?

I thought this was pretty cute even though it's not what I was looking for. It counts...right? It's hard trying to find a book cover in the font you are using if it's not Times New Roman, Georgia,  or crappy Papryus.

I'm not a religious person but I think the Caslon-ish typeface gives some power and weight to it.

These are pretty interesting. The book was created by the Caslon Typeface inventor.

Typography in books

Went to the Raven Bookstore and the Watson library at KU to find books with interesting covers based on the typography layout.

Sharks...sharks everywhere

VISC 204: Project 1
For our first project on symbolism we have to choose an animal that doesn't suck to draw and we use it continuously for two months. Sharks suck in general but they aren't that hard to draw (no fur, thank god) and I wanted to learn more about them since they scare the shit out of me. I'm not for certain which type yet but I really like hammerheads and leopard sharks.
